  • SA18, USB 1.1 Interface Adapter

SA18 USB 1.1 Interface Adapter SA-Adapter The SA18 provides the transceiver part of a USB 1.1 interface, using a standard type A connector and connected by a ribbon cable. The SA18 provides the transceiver part of a USB 1.1 interface, using a standard type A connector and connected by a ribbon cable. SA-Adapters are small universal boards providing the physics for legacy serial I/O, fieldbus interfaces and other small I/Ofunctions. One serial line is provided per adapter, which can be plugged directly to the CPU board as a mezzanine. Alternatively, the adapter can be connected to the front panel via ribbon cable. The SA concept allows to add additional I/O interfaces to many of duagon's CPU boards, enhancing flexibility with regard to the line transceivers and isolation requirements. Whether a specific SA-Adapter (or a mix of different SA-Adapters) fits on a specific CPU board is determined by a combination of mechanical, performance, FPGA and operating system criteria and needs to be verified for every board configuration requested. 1 USB 1.1 channel Standard USB connector (Type A)

  • MM2, ESMini COM with Intel Atom E600 Series

MM2 ESMini COM with Intel Atom E600 Series Computer-On-Module The MM2 is an ultra-small and rugged Computer-On-Module (COM) of the ESMini family featuring an x86 Intel Atom E680T CPU. It is designed for industrial automation, medical computers, in-vehicle computers, and embedded computers in transportation. The MM2 supports conductive cooling technology and is 100% EMC proof. The MM2 is an ultra-small Computer-On-Module of the rugged ESMini family. Together with an application-specific carrier board it forms a semi-custom solution for industrial, harsh, mobile and mission-critical environments. The small form factor board iscontrolled by an Intel Atom processor from the E6xx series. This processor family offers high I/O flexibility as it uses the PCI Express standard for the processor-to-chipset interface. The MM2 has a total power consumption of max. 5 to 7 W, while havinga clock frequency of up to 1.6 GHz. The MM2 accommodates up to 2 GB of directly soldered main memory. Different mass storage media are supported on the carrier board. The MM2 offers a multitude of I/O: besides modern serial I/O like two PCI Express x1links, LVDS, SDVO, high-definition audio, SATA and USB, it also provides legacy I/O (1 CAN, 4 COM, 2 I2C). The MM2 is completed by a board management controller for temperature and power supervision. It comes with a UEFI BIOS. The MM2 is screened for operation in a -40°C to +85°C temperature range (Tcase at the cover and frame). As all ESMini modules it is embedded in a covered frame. This ensures EMC protection and allows efficient conductive cooling. Air cooling is also possible by applying a heat sink on top of the cover. Where operating temperatures are moderate, the module may even do without the frame and cover, with a suitable low-power processor and airflow. ESMini modules are firmly screwed to a carrier board and come with rugged industry-proven connectors supporting high frequency and differential signals. Only soldered components are used to withstand shock and vibration, and the design is optimized for conformal coating. The MM2 supports a 95x55mm form factor. • EM9A, ESM COM with PowerPC MPC8548

EM9A ESM COM with PowerPC MPC8548 Computer-On-Module The EM9A Computer-On-Module is an MPC8548/MPC8543 PowerPC based embedded SBC for use in different industrial environments, with custom I/O in an onboard FPGA. The EM9A is a complete embedded SBC for use on any carrier board in different industrial environments. The final application consists of a stand-alone EM9A or an EM9A with an application-specific carrier card. The EM9A is controlled by an integrated PowerPC MPC8548 or MPC8543 processor (optionally with encryption unit) running at clock frequencies between 800 MHz and 1.5 GHz. The EM9A is equipped with soldered DDR2 SDRAM for data and with NAND Flash for program storage. It provides access for three Gigabit Ethernet channels and two COM ports via its I/O connector J3. Additional functionality such as graphics, touch, CAN bus, protocol converters etc. can be realized in an FPGA for the needs of the individual application. The corresponding connectors are available on a carrier board. Application software dynamically loads the functions of the FPGA. The EM9A comes with MENMON support. This firmware/BIOS can be used for bootstrapping operating systems (from disk, Flash or network), for hardware testing, or for debugging applications without running any operating system. The EM9A is a communication engine ideal for use in embedded applications, for instance as an embedded Linux server, but also for high-end automation and robot control under a real-time operating system. For a first evaluation of the functions of the EM9A we strongly recommend to use the EK9 ESM starter kit. The kit consists of the function-compatible EM9 module (with front I/O), an FPGA loaded with additional I/O functions, the carrier card with I/O connectors, an external PSU, cables, and an adapter for mounting a PCI-104 module. ESM modules consist of the hardware (CPU, chip set, memory, I/O) which is not fixed to any application-specific function, and an FPGA programmed in VHDLcode, which provides I/O that is also still independent of a specific application. ESM modules are based on PCI. They have two or three system connectors: J1 has a fixed signal assignment, while J2 is variable depending on the final application-specific configuration of the ESM and the carrier board. J2 also feeds the I/O signals of the functions programmed in the FPGA to the carrier card. Some ESM modules have an additional J3 connector that is used to replace the front I/O connectors to route the signals to the carrier board or to the backplane of a CPCI or VME system.
