Among other things, the card has proprietary interfaces, is intended to run in new systems worldwide and replace outdated cards one-to-one that no longer sufficiently fulfill the necessary security requirements. It is used as embedded computing hardware in functionally safe systems both in trains (e.g. door control systems) and for trackside technology (e.g. interlocking systems).
Following development and the mandatory quality and safety tests, series production is set to begin in 2028 and will include around 1,000 assemblies per year for the next 15 years.
