Space-Saving Controller for Complex Ethernet Protocol Stacks
The D013E is a multi-purpose dual Ethernet controller interface, available with one or two galvanically isolated 10/100 Mbit Ethernet interfaces (ETH0/ETH1). It features embedded processing power with hardware prioritization and very low jitter for reliable communication. The space-saving component encapsulates all Ethernet-relevant functions on a compact 48 x 50 mm footprint, acting as a communication chip that handles the Ethernet protocol stack independently. This lowers the requirements on the host system, as no additional CPU power is needed.
Rail-Specific Network Protocols
The D013E is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3 and supports 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX, auto-crossover and autonegotiation. It supports the most commonly used real-time Ethernet train communication network protocols including TRDP, EtherNet/IP, CIP and more. The interface card provides maximum availability by supporting redundancy protocols including RSTP and dual-homing. An optional internal switch enables daisy chains and the corresponding ring protocols. Furthermore, a dedicated bypass output provides the drivers for external bypass relays, which are not part of the D013E. Web maintenance and cybersecurity features are available as options.
Easy Integration into Host System
With duagon's driver kit, the D013E can be integrated quickly on almost any host system through a small register set, each 8 bits long, without the wide address range required by dual-ported-memory-based solutions. The host interface, configurable by bootstrapping pins, can be operated as serial (RS/TX), 8-bit parallel, or SPI.
The digital interfaces operate at 3.3 V logic levels, compatible with most modern CPU platforms. The D013E is designed for harsh rolling stock environments and is fully compliant with EN 50155.
