One of our customers has changed their brand name. This also has an impact on us, as we still have a number of components with their old logo in stock to fulfil a large order. We always produce such components in stock, because this is more efficient and cost-effective than just-in-time. This way we can also meet the promised delivery deadlines more reliably. However, our customer now needs the components with the new logo very quickly - a challenge that we were happy to support.
After consulting with our customer, we are covering the old engraved logo with the new logo. Our engineers designed a special template for this and printed it using a 3D printer so that we can position the stickers quickly and accurately in the right place. At the same time, we are updating all documentation and ensuring that the next order for components is placed with the new logo. Of course, we need to charge for this additional work. However, compared to the alternative of new production, both we and our customers save valuable financial resources, as well as time and energy-intensive materials like aluminum and steel.
For us, this is a matter of course and a practical demonstration of sustainability – even without the need for a law or report.
