Update from 3G to 5G 

The Astoro and Giruno high-speed trains from SBB are getting state-of-the-art WLAN, and our customer onway has won the tender for this. As a reliable supplier and partner, duagon is supporting them with the hardware for tailor-made 5G routers. 

A CompactPCI Serial system with enormous performance consisting of two G028 CPU cards and six (!) 5G modems is being used. All components are specially designed for the very demanding operating environments in railway technology: cold, heat, vibrations, mechanical shocks, dust, and moisture—our assemblies tolerate all of these for reliable and long-lasting use. The highlight: if the trains already have built-in racks, backplanes, and power supplies, we only replace the CPU and modem cards. This saves resources and costs. For all other trains, we supply the complete system.  

The first hardware systems will be delivered to @onway in spring 2026. There, they will have their software installed and will be built into SBB trains.
