High-speed in two senses: Within a few months, duagon retrofitted 100 train sets belonging to Swiss railway company BLS AG with state-of-the-art computer hardware, as the 3G mobile network in the area of operation was shut down in mid-2025. In the future, most of the BLS fleet will therefore be equipped with one of our latest Box PCs – the BL74W. With its 5G modules, it functions as a robust and maintenance-free router for future-proof and fast train-to-ground communication. Digital services such as passenger information systems, video surveillance, passenger counting, and diagnostic services use it to exchange data between the train and the land side. At the same time, the BL74W offers so much power that it could take on additional services in parallel with its router functionality in the future if required.
